Description

Lumper/Warehouse Worker — A lumper is a laborer responsible for the physical transfer of freight between trucks and warehouse docks, ensuring efficient unloading and organization of goods. This role is distinct general warehouse associates, focusing specifically on loading and unloading tasks. May use specialized equipment such as Sit-Down Forklift and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities
  • Loading and unloading freight from trailers, containers, and other conveyances
  • Sorting freight items and placing them in designated areas
  • Packing and wrapping items for shipment
  • Using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment to move freight
  • Inspecting items for damage or defects
