This role is distinct general warehouse associates, focusing specifically on loading and unloading tasks. May use specialized equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Loading and unloading freight from trailers, containers, and other conveyances
- Sorting freight items and placing them in designated areas
- Packing and wrapping items for shipment, palletizing
- Using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment to move freight
- Inspecting items for damage or defects
- Documenting and tracking shipments
